Who We Are
The Georgia Tax Clinic is a nonprofit organization committed to helping the unrepresented low-income people and families in our community experiencing tax problems with the IRS or the state achieve financial independence. We provide effective, compassionate tax representation to our clients in need, conduct educational outreach activities to inform our community about tax issues, and create tax resources for non-English speakers.
Located in the heart of Gwinnett County in Lawrenceville, Georgia, we are the only legal clinic in the state that provides free tax services and educational outreach activities year-round.
We offer our services to all people regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran status, or immigration status, and we do so with a passionate, empathetic staff as well as legal externs and volunteers. We love making the tax resolution process as easy and stress free as possible for our valued clients.
Our Mission
The Georgia Tax Clinic is dedicated to helping low-income people and families in Georgia achieve financial independence.
Our goals at the Georgia Tax Clinic are three-fold:
Become the first, best year-round resource for tax-related assistance for low-income people in Georgia in order to ensure the most vulnerable members in our community can receive quality legal representation to solve their tax problems and achieve financial independence.
Educate our community about important tax issues in order to improve tax literacy and help people save money.
Provide better in-language access to tax-related resources for non-English speakers in our community in order to ensure that language is not a barrier to service or useful money-saving knowledge.
Our Goals And Their Impact
Board of Directors
The Georgia Tax Clinic is guided by a small, diverse Board of Directors who assure that the organization remains faithful to its mission and is reflective of the community they serve. In addition to the contribution of pro bono services within their respective fields of expertise, 100% of the Board of Directors give annual cash donations to the organization.
